Apple's iPhone and iPad officially granted security clearance by U.S Pentagon


Pentagon, the headquarter of US department of defense has officially granted security clearance to Apple's iPhone and iPad. According to the statement by the Defense Department, now the U.S. Govt. has officially approved the Apple products running on latest mobile OS to use on its networks.

Last week, Pentagon signaled that the approval was impending for Apple products or devices. Two week later Blackberry 10 and Samsung Galaxy devices got approval by the military and now this agreement has come to Apple's products.

Samsung vice president 'Tim Wagner' says :

Samsung, the largest seller of smartphones for commercial use, worked with the U.S. National Security Agency to create a secure version of Google’s Android operating system with multiple layers of software and hardware protection

And Samsung also said that the Samsung Galaxy S4 which was released on April will be the first smartphone to use a new system called Knox.

Along with it the below source also mentioned that the Defense Department has more than 600,00 mobile devices including BlackBerrys, Apple products and devices running on Google's Android OS.

Moreover the military is thinking to create a military mobile applications store and hire a contractor to build a system that may handle as many as 8 million devices.
