Verizon HTC 8X passes FCC



Windows Phone 8 lovers who have been waiting for the new HTC Windows Phone 8X to come on their favourite wireless carrier, Verizon, have some good news. There have been indications before that the cool new Windows Phone 8 device will be coming to Verizon soon enough. Indications such as the Verizon roadmap leaked online clearly showed the HTC 8X as one of the devices. Then, in an official HTC video showcasing the device in question, had an HTC 8X with a Verizon LTE logo on the device’s back panel.

But if you want to more certain with very less doubt, an FCC report would convince you. The Verizon version of the HTC 8X has just been through the FCC, and the reports released by the FCC indicates that it is certainly the Verizon version. WP Central writes:

The CDMA handset (labelled PM23100 – cousin to C-3PO) features NFC, has been identified as a HTC Windows Phone, and supports the 700MHz LTE of Verizon. What’s more is Engadget reports the device will also enable owners to use GSM frequencies (850 and 1900), which will help those who frequently travel beyond the shores.

If you are not sure if you are interested to buy the HTC 8X, you should another look at the specification of the device. The new Windows Phone 8 device has a 4.3 inch S-LCD2 capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, good enough for watching 720p HD videos. The device runs on a 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor. There is 16 GB on board memory for storing multimedia stuff, but there is no external card slot.

There is a pretty good 8 mega pixel rear facing camera which supports 1080p full HD video recording, and a 2.1 mega pixel front facing camera for video calls and self portraits, which also supports 1080p videos for video calls.

The smart phone is also rich with various connectivity options such as Wi Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, etc. So, what do you think about the HTC 8X now?
