ZTE launches Grand Era LTE in Hong Kong with 4.5-inch 720p display

Chinese manufacturer ZTE has announced the launch of a new smartphone Grand Era LTE in Hong Kong today. This dual-mode LTE phone is being released as a part of China Mobile Hong Kong Co. Ltd. (CMHK)’s first commercial converged TD-LTE / LTE FDD network.

The phone features Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 1.5GHz dual core CPU, 1GB RAM, 4.5-inch 1280×720p display with Gorilla Glass, 1780mAh battery, 8MP rear camera, and ZTE’s customisable Mifavor User Interface

.

“With the growing popularity of the LTE environment in Hong Kong, LTE smart terminal products will become more prevalent in the future, which will also be the model for LTE development in mainland China, further accelerating the maturity of the global TD-LTE industry, ” said He Shiyou, ZTE EVP and Head of the Terminal Division.

The smartphone is very unlikely to be released outside markets like Hong Kong and China, but we can expect it to reach Indian market too as telco’s like Airtel are using TD-LTE for their 4G networks.
