Sony rolling out Android 4.1 update for Xperia P, Xperia go and Xperia E dual this week



Sony rolling out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Xperia P, Xperia go and Xperia E dual starting this week with a phased distribution that will ramp up over the next couple of months. And today Sony divulged some details on its Android 4.1 update.

The update includes:

  • New versions of WALKMAN, Album and Movies apps.
  • Battery STAMINA Mode that can conserve battery by shutting down power-draining apps when a phone's screen is off, then start them back up when the display is turned on.
  • Easier application sorting and a a new search feature in the app tray.
  • Support for up to seven home screens.
  • Google Now.
Along with it Sony also mentioned that, Xperia go users the update is accessible via PC Companion or Bridge for Mac software. And these users will only receive an update notification on their phones if they're running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

And the owners of Xperia S,Xperia SL, Xperia ion and Xperia acro S will also get this update soon, as these smartphones are next in line to start receiving Sony’s Android 4.1 software from the end of May.
