As we all know that in the last quarter Apple sold over 4.2 million macs. Sad to say but Apple's Mac business was down by 16 % year over on a weekly sales basis compared to the overall PC market, which was down 6 percent, according to IDC.
Apple gave the good explanation for why Mac sales were light. On the earnings call, CEO Tim Cook said, Apple announced new iMacs in October, but didn't ship them until the end of November and the middle of December. At the end of the quarter, supply was "constrained" for the iMac. Apple couldn't make enough to meet demand.
