Microsoft Surface PRO all set for its debut on saturday

The highly anticipated surface pro is all set to go on sale on saturday, there will be a pretty stark choice for consumers between two lookwise remarkably similar Microsoft tablets.

When we look at the two tablets side by side its hard to tell which is which at first go, not surprising because both have the same metro screen display and a mere 4.2 mm thickness difference.

So, what's the difference between the two, lets find out.

Pricing :- The thicker RT model with MS-Office is placed at $499, whereas the thinner PRO without MS-Office would be available for $899.

Compatibility :- The PRO is compatible with the older windows applications, but RT is not.

Thickness/Weight :- The RT is about 0.35 Inches and 1.5 Pounds, whereas the PRO is about 0.5 Inches and 2 Pounds.

Disk space/storage specs :- the RT is available in 32GB and 64GB variants, and the PRO comes in 64GB and 128GB. Though the PRO has the Solid State Drive which is fast, it is the same class of SSD's that are found in laptops.

Last week there was a lot of confusion regarding the tablet's available disk space, which forced Microsoft to correct itself. In an statement released in the press, The company had said that the PRO had only 23GB and 83GB for user on 64GB and 128GB variants respectively. But latter the statement was corrected, upping the available space to 30GB and 90Gb respectively. More space can be retrieved by getting rid of the recovery partition.
Battery life :- There's a big difference here, where the PRO gets a backup between 4-5 hours, the RT has twice of that.

Processor :- The big difference continues in this as well, where the PRO has a Intel Ivy Bridge chip under the hood, the RT has a considerably slower Nvidia Tegra 3.

Display :- The PRO packs powerful mind-blowing 1,920x1,080 pixel display, whereas the RT with an ordinary 1,366x768 pixel display, both are 10.6 Inches.

So, the final verdict with an RT like normal people get an tablet, BUT with an PRO you get an ultrabook squeezed into a tablet. And necessarily that's not a bad thing.
