Android 4.0 Bliss Pad R9020 from Nexus Series Launched

The new Bliss Pad R9020 tablet from a series called Nexus has arrived. However, before any misunderstanding arises, this is not the famous Google-branded Nexus tablet that has been receiving much media attention lately.

Instead, it is a tablet that comes with a 9 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800p and an aspect ratio of 16:10. This screen supports four-point multi-touch input. By comparison, the Google Nexus 7 tablet will have a 7-inch display.

Meanwhile, the processor is of the Bliss Pad R9020 tablet is Rockchip RK2918 which has a clock speed of 1 GHz. Its GPU is Vivante GC800. Unlike the Google Nexus tablet which will likely debut with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, this tablet runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Users are furthermore provided with 1 GB of DDR3 RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.

The tablet’s hardware is protected by a solid aluminum casing. Overall, the device weighs 640 g. Several buttons can be found on its body including a Power button, Menu, Back, Home, and volume controls. A SIM card slot is also available for 3G connectivity. Apart from 3G, users can connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, as well.

Two cameras are likewise onboard. Its main camera, found on its rear, has a 2 megapixel sensor while a secondary camera for video conferencing has a 2 megapixel sensor. To complete the list, there is a 3.5 mm audio jack, a microSD card slot, and a mini USB port.

Whether it is a coincidence or not that it sports the Nexus name, this tablet might mislead some into thinking that this is the same device that Google is expected to unveil at the I/O developers conference. After all, like the Nexus, this device will likely have a pocket-friendly price tag. It remains to be seen how Google will react at its use of the name Nexus. If it were Apple, this would surely be a lawsuit waiting to happen.
