The IPhone 5 Could Help Apple Achieve A Sixty Per Cent Year On Year Increase In Sales



Earlier this week we saw Apple officially unveil their long awaited new iPhone 5 smartphone. Initial response to this new model is very good, especially when compared to the luke warm reception that the iPhone 4S received last year. This model plays a key part in Apple’s 2012 sales figures and could ensure that the company break records in the final quarter of the year.

On September 12th we saw the new iPhone 5 officially unveiled and both the public and industry experts seem delighted with what this new device has to offer. In response to the launch of the phone on market research company has gone on to predict that the phone will drive sales for Apple in Q4 and that the company could well enjoy record breaking figures in this period. IHS iSuppli are the market researchers in question and they have predicted that the handset will help Apple to reach an expected 149 million handsets before the end of 2012. When we compare this figure to 2011 it represents a huge increase of 60% on the 93 million phones sold in that year. This figure comprises of all models in the Apple range so the iPhone 4 and 4S all have major parts to play but the new phone is vital in a huge peak in the fourth quarter of the year. As an upgrade option the iPhone 5 is very attractive thanks to key new feature like the larger screen and LTE connectivity. These new features will also turn the heads of many would be Android consumers who may have their heads turned by this new phone.
