Google: Samsung will provide display technology in Google Glass




Google says that they will use Samsung display technology in the upcoming Google Glass. This report is according to the sources who talked to Korean Times and that sources said that the top management has recently approved Samsung display technology to use in Google Glass.

Google will use Samsung's high-end OLED for their upcoming Google Glass which is a really a  big thing. An executive at one of Samsung Display’s local parts suppliers said that after this deal Google will confidentially shares data with Samsung on its upcoming future projects.

Google Glass which have been shipped in March powers an nHD display with a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels but no specific resolution or any screen info for the upcoming Google Glass came out.




In an key note speech in Canada Samsung display CEO Kim said that "OLED on silicon may be used for glasses-type, augmented-reality devices much like the Google Glass". Along with it he also added, “The wearable market will be a major beneficiary of the free-form factor advantage of flexible OLEDs. Smartphone-linked wearable accessory products such as watches and health bands will use ultra-thin flexible OLEDs embedded with various sensor”.

It is also expected that the latest version will come out with “wearable computing” trend already includes wireless internet, Bluetooth connectivity and 16GB of onboard storage. There are no words from Google till yet about the release of this latest version.
