Good news if you’re in France, Germany, or Spain and want to buy a Google Nexus 7 tablet – it’s already available. It turns out that September 3 wasn’t the release date for these three countries after all, despite some evidence we had about it last week. So no more waiting. You can head over to the online Play Store and order a Nexus 7 right now in Germany, France, and Spain.
The tablet is priced at €199 for the 8 GB version, and €249 for the 16 GB model. That’s substantially more than in the US, but the VAT in each country makes up most of the difference. Electronics have always been more expensive in Europe than in the US, so this is nothing new.
Expanding the Nexus 7′s availability is a good move from Google, but even now the tablet is only available in a grand total of seven countries. That’s… almost laughable. If Google doesn’t want the upcoming iPad Mini to eat the Nexus 7′s lunch, it seriously needs to make its tablet available in many more places – fast.
