It’s been almost six months since we first laid eyes on the awkwardly-named Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, but it looks like the second-generation Tab is finally due a UK launch. Today the 10.1-inch, ICS-powered tablet appeared for pre-order on the Carphone Warehouse’s website, where it’s available in Wifi-only and Wifi/3G flavors. The lower-end version will set you back £299 ($469), while the premium model is listed with a slightly eye-watering price of £399.99 ($628).
The Tab 2 10.1 is available in black and white, and the first shipments are due to be sent out next Wednesday, Aug. 22, less than a week after Samsung will release the Galaxy Note 10.1 at its flagship London store.
So, it’s good to finally see the Tab 2 launching in the UK -- it launched in the U.S. back in May, if you recall. But with strong Android competition from the likes of ASUS and Huawei, not to mention Apple’s iPad, we’re not too hopeful about the Tab 2’s chances of making a bit splash next Wednesday.
