Sony Showing Off PlayStation Mobile Games

During GameCom 2012, Sony had held a press event at the beginning of it. During that time, they announced their new PlayStation Mobile, which is essentially a re-branding of the PlayStation Suite. It’s no surprise that they did this, I kind of wonder if it has to deal with their acquisition of Gaikai and possibly the integration of it. Not only that, but Sony has also announced details on what this new service will be doing. It is supposed to offer various games to the PlayStation Vita and Android PlayStation certified devices. Those are most likely to stick around a lot of the Xperia devices.

We currently only know about 11 different games that will soon be arriving on the PlayStation Mobile service. There are actually a whole lot of developers that are on board with releasing different titles onto the PlayStation Mobile service. We got to actually see what some of these games that will be on the PlayStation Mobile service are. Here’s a few of them that was teased:

Tractor Trails
Twist Pilot
Tipper
Aqua Kitty
Samurai Beatdown
Underline
Beat Slider

Sony had decided that they would tease all of their viewers by showing off a few different screenshots of various versions of gameplay for the many different titles they plan on releasing. So far, everything is looking absolutely fantastic. That said, those of you that are huge fans of gaming genres such as action, strategy or platforming, this could soon be able to solve your gaming fix. That is, if you have a Sony certified device. There’s been no exact date as to when each game will be available for purchase, but it is suspected that we’ll be seeing almost everything by the end of fall.

It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out for Sony. They’ve actually been doing a lot lately, such as setting up their new cloud gaming service after the complete acquisition of Gaikai. It’ll be interesting to see if they will be integrating that with PlayStation mobile. Then again, it might be useless when it comes to just being able to download these games to your device. Then again, they could expand upon it to let you play PlayStation games on your mobile device like OnLive lets you play PC games on it. Honestly, I think that would be pretty cool, but I also wonder if the PlayStation Mobile service will kind of be like a App Store too. Who knows, we’ll just have to see what ends up happening.

Were you able to see what PlayStation Mobile was like at the GameCom 2012, or have you heard anything about it? If so, let us know in the comments below, we’d love to have some more information on this new service. Either way, stay tuned with TheDroidGuy to keep up to date on this new service that Sony will be launching!
