Apple Invites Media for a Special Event on September 12

Rumors and speculations have been all over concerning Apple’s next move – especially with the much anticipated iPhone 5 and the mini iPad which are expected to be launched anytime soon. Unlike with other companies such as HTC and Samsung where credible leaks surface in advance, Apple’s devices never really leak out in advance of their releases. Back to the news, Apple has invited the media for a ‘special event’ in San Francisco on September 12 but there were no specific details as to what announcements They should expect or whether it is the day the iPhone 5 and mini iPad will be launched.

The event will be hosted at the Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts and Theater starting at 10am Pacific, 1pm Eastern times. According to Macworld whose invitation I learnt of this event, Apple emphasizes on the words ‘it’s almost here’ and a large number 12 casting a number 5 shadow. This gives more credibility to the speculation that Apple is set to announce the new iPhone 5 and discuss their new iOS 6 operating system which was first mentioned officially during the WDC in June. Apple had mentioned that the new operating system would be unveiled during the fall.

We have heard a great deal of rumors about the new iPhone 5 especially over this past month and most mentioned that the September 12th day would be the special birth date for the new iPhone. According to CNN, he invite-only event is definitely the date when Apple launches iPhone 5 but what is not clear is whether Apple Fans should expect any more news regarding Apple’s products and new services. If indeed Apple launches the iPhone 5 next week, it will be landing on a market that has talked about it for weeks and will be greeted by both good and bad news.

Some of the bad news are reports on Samsung intending to sue Apple if the iPhone 5 will have LTE technology in retaliation to Apple’s lawsuit over copyright infringement last month. There were also news from China that iPhone clone maker Goo-Phone will sue Apple seeking to ban the iPhone from being sold in China whatever shape the new phone will come in. Anyway, for now, we just have to wait for September 12 and see what surprises Apple has in Store for us.
