The Samsung Galaxy SIII has, for sure, spurred envy among competitors in the smartphone arena. The SIII’s triumph has been seen as big and many out there want to smash its success. That’s why each rival is planning something big.
We now hear that HTC is developing a smartphone with a 5 inch display so as to steal some limelight from the SIII.
The grapevine buzz is that the phone would feature a 1794 x 1080 pixel resolution. In addition, the display would come with 126 vertical lines that would serve as Android’s onscreen navigation buttons, and will be placed at the bottom.
Though many feel this could be a smartphone, there are also others who speculate the device to be a tablet. The general feel is that a 1080 pixel resolution could be impractical, as even tablets don’t have a full 1080 HD display. So that could be a reason to believe that it could be a slate.
Anyways, the device would be powered Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon S4 SoC, paired with Adreno 320 graphics and would clock a speed of 1.5 GHZ – enough to power the display and other Snapdragon properties.During the past years, HTC had suffered huge financial losses; and therefore it is obvious that the company would put in a little more aggression in its device’s features.
We tend to think that the rumored device would launch in September or may be in October 2012. However, at present, we can’t confirm that the device would be a smartphone. So we better expect a tablet with a1920×1080 pixel and 5-inch display.
What is your take on this?
