HTC PM63100, Successor to HTC One X

New benchmarks have turned up on the GLBenchmark website, showing a phone known as the HTC PM63100. This 1.7Ghz, 1196 x 720, Android 4.0.4 smartphone could be the successor to the HTC One X.

The device, which goes by the codename “Evitareul”, is likely a new iteration of the HTC One XL which has the codenamne “Evita.” The new phone has a 1.7Ghz quad-core Tegra 3 CPU, making it 200Mhz faster than the 1.5GHz CPU used in the One X. The system information captured by GLBenchmark shows the phone running Android 4.0.4 but given that Jelly Bean is now available as source code and that devices like the Nexus 7 are starting to ship with it, then it is probable that the PM63100 will use Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The benchmarks submitted by the GLBenchmark app are only for the GLBenchmark 2.1 Egypt Offscreen 720p and GLBenchmark 2.1 Pro Offscreen 720p tests. The results are 8214 Frames and 4268 Frames respectively. This compares to 7325 Frames and 4739 Frames for the HTC One X. The better results correspond exactly with the 0.2Ghz speed increase from 1.5Ghz to 1.7Ghz.

The brand name listed in the system information is “cingular_us” which is the name used for AT&T Mobility in the United States (formerly Cingular Wireless LLC). It is expected that the device is destined for use with AT&T’s LTE network.
