Last month, HTC said that it would have the Android 4.0 update released by the end of August for the HTC ThunderBolt. Owners of the device were seen counting down the time until the calendar flipped to September, hoping to see a notification hit their T-Bolt at the last minute. Alas, the update never came and like Linus waiting in the pumpkin patch for the Great Pumpkin, HTC ThunderBolt owners had to forlornly watch another day go by without Android 4.0 on the phone.
It's not like HTC isn't aware that missed the self-imposed deadline. In responding to a tweet wondering about the missing update, the Taiwan based OEM said that it is aware that it missed the deadline, is working with Verizon to complete it and will notify customers when it is ready. Did HTC give us a coded message by including Verizon in its response? The carrier is known for being particularly compulsive with its update testing and HTC might have been telling us that Big Red is responsible for the missing update.
