Major carrier Claro and Motorola Mobility have just announced the rugged DEFY MINI Android phone is now available for purchase in Peru.
Customers can buy the Motorola DEFY MINI on Claro’s Smart Total i 99 postpaid plan, starting from 393 PEN ($125 USD or 100 EUR) and with a new 18-month contract.
Obviously, in other plans, the price varies according to plan and months of the device contract agreement signed by the customer (6, 12 or 18 months). The smartphone is now available at Claro Customer Service Centers and Authorized Distributors nationwide.
The smallest Android phone in the DEFY series, Motorola DEFY MINI offers users greater protection against water splashes and dust. In addition, the smartphone comes with a scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla glass display, which offers extra-protection.
Unveiled earlier this year, Motorola DEFY MINI is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The phone won’t receive any further OS upgrades, so those who purchase the DEFY MINI should know they will be stuck on Gingerbread unless they install a custom ROM.
The DEFY MIINI is equipped with a 600 MHz single-core processor, which is complemented by 512MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM. There’s also microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
On the back, the device sports a mediocre 3-megapixel camera with LED flash, but there’s also a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls. Last but not least, the DEFY MINI sports a decent 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution.
“Motorola DEFY MINI is just the right mix of style, value, performance and toughness. It can stand up to whatever your busy life throws at you. It keeps you connected and organized, and allows you to capture and share your once-in-a-lifetime adventures, all with resilience and style,” said Alexander Zawadzki, country manager for Motorola Mobility Peru.
