iPhone 5 preorders start today – even though it doesn’t exist yet

Well, well, well, would you look at that? Apple’s online store has gone down ahead of its highly anticipated ‘talk iPhone’ event at its Cupertino campus. What does this mean though? It could just be some sort of diversion but it could also mean that Apple is going to start taking pre-orders for a new iPhone, or new iPhones, or whatever it is that the company announces at today’s event.

We are fully expecting the company to announce at least one new iPhone, possibly a device called the iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S, with another new and cheaper iPhone rumored to be a possibility.

It’s also possible that we might just see an 8GB iPhone 4 announced.

Last night we heard about a possible release date and pricing for the iPhone 4S, a device that could very well be the iPhone 5, and it looked something like this.

October 14th was mentioned for the second time as a release date so we believe that there is a distinct possibility that this is the day that Apple has in mind for a new iPhone launch. Plans can change though but that is the current front-runner.

As for pricing, there will apparently be a 64GB model priced at $299, a 32GB model at $199 and a 16GB model at $99. Of course, that is just pure rumor but we only have to wait a few short minutes to find out for sure.
