The ACTIVE Case is one of Seidio's most popular case series that covers a large variety of smartphones. Now it has arrived to the HTC One X for both the International & AT&T variants. Like all ACTIVE Cases, this one is also a two-piece case with the first layer of protection being made of rugged polymer finished off with a hard-shell exoskeleton. This provides two layers of protection against falls, dings, scratches, and helps absorb shock. The design of the exoskeleton does a great job to provide two layers of protection on all four corners of your HTC One X. In my experience, the corners are usually the part of the device that tends to receive the most damage from an unprotected fall.
The ACTIVE Case has evolved much the last 6-12 months. The kickstand went from being an optional feature to standard. With our Android devices being so large, it is logical to have a nice feature like a kickstand. Even the kickstand has evolved since first being introduced. It went from being a piece of plastic to metal & magnetic making it stylish but most importantly durable.
With the case on your devices, ports are still fully accessible as well as the camera, flash, and microphones. The physical buttons on the other hand are covered by the polymer case. The polymer is flexible but it will take time to get used to the additional force need to function the physical buttons.
The ACTIVE Case provides a great deal of protection with multiple layers and materials. The case only adds 2.2mm of thickness & 45 grams of weight. The rugged polymer makes it easier to grip and the finish coating of the exoskeleton looks amazing. This case has a handful of color options and the ability to combo with a holster. This just adds to the feature list. The holster itself is functional but not appealing to the eye. The protective film inside the holster to protect the screen it a hit or miss over time. I have had some peel off where others have been able to withstand the elements.
The case can be found online through Seidio for $34.95 or on Amazon for $25-$29 (depends on color & combo). I have had my fair share of Active case on multiple devices and they have all done extremely well in every day usage and harsh conditions. This is definitely a case to consider especially with all the features it has to offer.
