Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to Land in September

We are just halfway through the year but Samsung is boasting in glory – in the field of smartphones and tablets but especially because of the Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone that happens to be the most popular and buzzed Android gadget of the year so far. There are rumors doing rounds already about Samsung and this time it is about the Samsung tablet. It is rumored that Samsung is already working on the second Galaxy tablet the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

According to GSM Arena, the Galaxy note 2 will have a large 5.3 or 5.5 inch AMOLED screen which, though larger than a smartphone’s in size, is narrower than that of its predecessor the Galaxy note. No other specs have leaked yet but it is expected that the tablet and smartphone hybrid or phablet will have an 8 megapixel rear camera like its predecessor and a 2 GHz dual-core processor. Other specs include a 2GB RAM, a 32GB inbuilt memory (expandable to 64GB) and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.

Earlier rumors had indicated that the Galaxy Note 2 may have a flexible OLED screen but it appears Samsung chose a stronger and more functional screen. The rumor sources indicate that Samsung may release the tablet sometime in September or October of this year and it may be Samsung’s way to undercut the Apple iPhone 5 rumored to be launched ahead of schedule too.

A September lunch is very convenient for Samsung because the company will have a lot of time to promote the new phablet and cash in on holiday’s mega sales and will give it an upper hand over Apple which is planning to release the iPhone 5 in October. It appears that 2012 is the year of major battles on the smartphone and tablet markets and since Samsung seems to have completely dominated its competitors in the smartphone market, we just have to wait and see if the Galaxy note 2 will beat iPhone 5 later this year.
