Android smart phones have been leading in mobile tech lately. Leading manufacturers have invented trends and thus introduced new features. Owing to competition, creating a new USP helps new models to stand out. Unprecedented features such as 3D support and 4G phones are now real. Other features are in the pipeline such as NFC and wireless charging.
2013 should give us smart phones with bigger screen sizes while retaining their portability, small sizes. A larger display is en vogue and manufacturers are working on flexible technology. The smart phone market is hopeful of flexible displays though with anticipated teething problems.
Every smart phone user wishes battery life problems could be solved once and for all. A lot of times they switch off the smart features of their phones to sustain battery charge for longer periods. This dulls the purpose of owning a smart phone!
Wireless charging is expected to roll within months and will be a welcome relief even though the traditional charger remains the first line of charging.
Phone batteries are still bigger in relation to the overall size of smart phones. Batteries thus need be smaller but with longer lasting charge. This is however a tall order.

Lovely phone designs are made very slim and sleek. They thus come fragile and easily destructible when left free of encasing. Encasing a smart phone denies the comfort of its smooth finish and essentially loses its feel and becomes bulky.
The smart phone market expects handy phones with more durable bodies, good enough to resist falls and scratches. This need not necessarily increase bulk and cost.
Demand for Wi-Fi by smart phone users is at an all time high and thanks to the numerous carriers offering it at a charge. Users should enjoy it better and unlimited, the same way or better than they do at home.
Higher Wi-Fi speeds on the 802.11ac standard at home will be possible for multiple devices, including streaming HD video. When Passpoint finally takes off, users will connect automatically on entering areas with Wi-Fi
Of the features above there are reasons why users would vote for them, what excites them or what would make them to upgrade.
Android smart phone users obviously have other features they would want to see in 2013. These were the highest ranked and they should keep them coming.
