Samsung Galaxy Note II: Build Quality Review

To tell the truth, I honestly wasn’t sure how well the build quality of the Note II would be. I had felt how light the Samsung Galaxy S II was and it actually felt a little on the cheap side. Of course, the Note II and S II are two completely different devices, but I still was rather surprised as to how well put together the Galaxy Note II was. The battery cover feels like plastic, but it really didn’t feel cheap, which is a good thing. It’s definitely not the Nexus 4′s glass backing. I tend to like more expensive items feeling a bit more on the quality side of things though, which is great since the Note II feels that way.

This is my first Note device ever, so I wasn’t sure if it would be top heavy due to its size, but it feels just right. I can hold it in my hand easily, just like I could with my much smaller Atrix 2. The overall feel of the device is really solid. Samsung’s devices tend to be built a lot out of plastic, but that’s almost hard to tell on the Note II. Now, If I were to — for some inexplicable reason — drop it on the cement by accident or if it fell out of my pocket, I don’t see this bad boy breaking at all. There might be a few scuffs and all, but nothing very noticeable. I won’t be trying any drop tests with this guy though, there’s plenty of those on YouTube, I’m sure.As I said earlier, I was a bit hesitant about the quality of this device after having felt the S II. Thankfully, I was not disappointed and it has surpassed my expectations
