HTC Accord lacks micro-SD card slot, said to take amazing photos

Tips continue to trickle in for what will be HTC’s new Windows Phone 8 device. Known as the HTC 8X, code named Accord, it features support for Verizon’s LTE network, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, and a 1.3MP front facing camera.

The device has 16GB of storage, and no slot for expandable memory. Though the “option” to switch storage to an SD was grayed out according to the tipster, so take everything with a grain of salt. The device is said to have a good build quality and, consistent with HTC’s methods, is made of plastic. Windows Phone 8 running on the Accord is bit rough around the edges and “still has some things to clean up.” The 8MP camera is very fast and takes “phenomenal photos.” The current set-up does not indicate any support for features like burst mode or “ImageSense” capability.

We are sure to learn more about the HTC 8X/Accord in the coming weeks. The news about the camera is certainly interesting. This latest rumor is in contrast to previous tips which indicated that the device would have expandable memory. The lack of memory expansion was a sore spot for many Windows Phone users in the past. However, the fact that SD memory card expansion is supported on Windows Phone 8 at all relives a bit of consternation for Windows Phone fans that desire that flexibility.
