Nokia Lumia 510 to run on Windows 7.8

Nokia is on the way of launching few low-end phones run on Windows 7.8, and one such has already been announced as Lumia 510. Today, more details of the phone are being spread across the Web, but only as leaks and no official word from either Nokia or Microsoft.

A Chinese forum leaked news that Nokia Lumia 510 has passed certification in China. Based on the leaked information it is learned the device is to sport 4-inch screen and is to be powered by 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227A single core processor. It is to feature 5MP rear camera and to be equipped with 256 MB of RAM.

Even though Microsoft will be releasing its Windows 8 mobile operating system shorty, but it looks the software maker and Windows Phone OEMs are still interested to continue the sales of Windows 7.8 phones.

It is rumored the Windows 7.8 phones will be of lowest-end devices unless the new Windows Phone 8 OS is fine-tuned to be used on low-specification handsets.

Well, remember, at the Windows Phone Summit earlier this year it was said the WP8 will be fine-tuned only for dual-core processors.

The added rumor suggests Nokia Lumia 510 is expected to be launched this holiday season, and by early 2013 it will be made available to many countries. No leak has yet been known as to when the device will be launched in India.
